I get that, and i don't blame the clerks, though I personally would feel out f integrity taking advantage of a Customer... But i do understand that's what happens when you work for the man... and yes you do have to eat and pay the bills!

Shame on Teavana!

You have to understand it isn't the clerks fault. If we don't do it that way we get fired and it took me way over a year to get this job (after five applications a day minimum and mostly ten +) Its hard out their right now and I have to do what they tell me to do. Just watch the scales digital read out and keep telling them "No". We still get yelled at when you leave but I feel better about not ripping people off. And when they try to sell you every thing in the store from cast iron down to the plastic stuff just let them practice if you have the time. I am sorry, It is horrible, but I have to eat and pay bills.

You would have better luck shopping at another tea place. If you still want to shop there than okay, but I'm giving a fair warning that teavana is just another corporation out there that don't give a rat's ass about their customers or their employees. People often say they'll get a true tea experience, but that's not true. Maybe it was in the past, but not anymore.

UPDATE:
I received a nice gift pack of Tea from the folks at Teavana. They sent me a few e-mails explaining that they would make sure that the proper person was alerted to my concerns.

Sadly still they have neither confirmed nor denied that their practice of selling more tea than a Customer asks for is really a "Practice" or just an accident.

Since they have not denied teaching sales people to sell in this manor, I have to assume that it's how they are trained.

I guess the old adage "La Caveat Emptour" or Let The Buyer Beware is perfect for this situation.

Thanks Teavana for the lovely gift, I will likely continue to patronize you as I find your tea to be delicious. I guess if I found a tea shop with tea I liked and did not do business as you do, I would switch... Until then...

Sorry for the very late reply...

Key West is a haven for crafty Artists. I will caution you that it's an expensive place to live! Most of us learn to do with a lot less than we would have on the mainland!

Online may be the way to go in the future, looking at the teas really does nothing for me, and then I'm pretty sure if I pay for 2 oz, I'll get 2 OZ's not 3!
